856 Sessions and 1,000 Prize Codes in 4 Fair Days for Bosch #LikeABosch
Bosch coupled the #LikeABosch fair activation with an UpReach photo booth and an asynchronous prize-draw mechanism. In 4 fair days, the setup generated 856 sessions, 1,000 prize codes distributed and a growing newsletter list. The mechanism lever: photo capture on the stand → GDPR opt-in → prize code by email → code redemption on a separate website. Prizes drawn ranged from an e-bike to a Bosch Smart Home starter pack. A live mosaic wall made the stand a visual anchor on the fair floor.

More than 200 B2B brands from across Europe trust UpReach — from agencies to enterprise corporations.
The initial situation
The #LikeABosch campaign stood for a dynamic, self-assured brand appearance — on the fair floor, that meant not just presenting stand hardware but translating the tonality of the campaign into a tangible activation.
The operational challenge was two-stage. First: stand traffic was one of many stands at a large B2B industry fair — with no strong visual magnet, no one stops. Second: a plain photo selfie generates no usable marketing asset. The campaign needed a mechanism that turns stand visits into newsletter subscribers and qualified leads for the Bosch CRM.
The third aspect: an asynchronous prize-draw mechanism. The prize draw was not to burn the touchpoint at the stand — visitors should have the chance to redeem their code later, at leisure, on a separate website. That extends the brand experience beyond the fair.
The UpReach solution
UpReach delivered a photo booth wrapped in the #LikeABosch design with individually configurable frames and stickers, tailored precisely to the campaign tonality. Visitors could customise their photos creatively — in front of #LikeABosch brand backgrounds, with campaign stickers, with custom frames.
The conversion lever was the multi-stage prize-draw mechanism. Step 1: photo capture on the stand. Step 2: a GDPR-compliant data-request form in the touchscreen flow with an explicit newsletter opt-in. Step 3: code delivery by email straight after the opt-in. Step 4: code redemption on a separate website away from the fair — where the participant found out whether they had won. An e-bike, a Bosch Smart Home starter pack and shopping vouchers were drawn.
Visually, the live mosaic wall on the stand was the standout: every photo session flowed in real time as a tile into a large-format wall. The growing wall drew stand visitors in continuously — without stand staff having to actively approach them.
Newsletter opt-ins ran GDPR-compliant with a timestamp and explicit consent. The lead pipeline was made traceable live for the Bosch marketing team in a cloud CMS dashboard. More on the technology: /produkte/pro-v1.

Setup & Logistics
Five weeks' lead time: 2 weeks for the software configuration in the #LikeABosch corporate identity (frames, stickers, brand backgrounds, touch flow), 1 week for the prize-draw infrastructure (code generator, email trigger, redemption-website connection), 1 week for the physical preparation (housing wrap, live mosaic wall hardware setup), 1 week of GDPR and compliance sign-off of the prize-draw mechanism by Bosch legal and data protection.
Set-up on the fair floor by an UpReach technician, including calibration of the live mosaic wall and an end-to-end test of the prize-code pipeline (photo → opt-in → email delivery → redemption). On-site support by UpReach staff across all 4 fair days, with a daily evaluation of sessions / opt-in rate / code volume.
Data pipeline during the event: every confirmed consent was transferred to the cloud CMS with a timestamp, prize codes were pushed asynchronously by email and validated on the separate redemption website. After the fair closed, the full newsletter list was handed to the Bosch marketing team as a CSV.

fair days of stand activation
856 sessions in 4 fair days is a strong figure in a B2B industry-fair context — that equals more than 200 activated stand visitors per day, each spending more than a minute at the activation point. The live mosaic wall demonstrably worked as a visual anchor: stand frequency in the activation area was consistently high across all 4 days.
The prize-code mechanism extended the activation beyond the fair. With 1,000 codes sent, the redemption website continued running in the days after the fair too — and turned stand visitors into an active email touchpoint with the brand.
All opt-ins were captured GDPR-compliant, with an explicit newsletter opt-in, a timestamp and a source tag (fair name). The full lead block was therefore directly reusable in the newsletter and CRM system — with no legal reworking.
Key takeaways from this setup
An asynchronous prize-draw mechanism extends the activation: when the code-redemption step happens on a separate website after the fair, a second touchpoint is created — the participant opens the email, clicks to the website, thinks about the brand again. For newsletter follow-up engagement, that works far more strongly than pure on-site instant wins.
A live mosaic wall replaces active approaching: with this mechanism, stand staff barely need to actively pull people to the activation point — the growing image wall pulls by itself. That frees up staff capacity, which stays available for quality advisory conversations at the stand itself.
GDPR pre-sign-off is a must, not an option: the multi-stage pipeline (stand → email → redemption) touches several data protection topics at once. A week of lead time for the compliance review by Bosch-internal data protection functions was not overhead but necessary — and shielded the activity from any legal risk.
