Hybrid employee activation for a global premium-fashion brand

A global premium-fashion brand activated its entire workforce for an internal employer-branding campaign — from the headquarters to the overseas offices across every continent. The technical challenge: how do you make sure that an employee in Germany and one in Tokyo can create the same high-quality, CI-compliant campaign photo — with no app download and no login hurdles? UpReach supplied a hybrid set-up: physical photo-booth terminals for the headquarters and the browser-based Virtual Booth for the global rollout.

More than 200 B2B brands from across Europe trust UpReach — from agencies to enterprise corporations.

The initial situation

Global employer-branding campaigns fail on two barriers: technology hurdles that are too high and output that is too generic. When staff worldwide have to install an app or fight their way through intranet logins, the participation rate falls towards zero.

The content requirement was equally critical: the generated content had to be personalised by hand — every photo was to incorporate the employee's personal motto. At the same time, the fashion brand's CI design had to be followed exactly on every generated image, whether at the physical terminal in Germany or on an Android device in South-East Asia.

The campaign also had to work top-down: leadership participation was the precondition for motivating the global workforce.

The UpReach solution

Step 1 — physical: high-performance UpReach photo-booth terminals were installed for the headquarters. The terminal was fitted with a touch-signature feature: employees wrote their personal motto on the display with their finger, and the software integrated the handwriting photorealistically into the corporate-design layout.

Step 2 — digital: for all global locations, UpReach rolled out the Virtual Booth. Employees received a simple link, opened the camera in their smartphone browser — no app download — and went through the same photo and signature process on their own device.

The cloud CMS guaranteed CI consistency: the same layout, the same colour values, the same typography — whether at the terminal in Germany or on an iPhone in Tokyo. One configuration for all output channels.

Setup & Logistics

Lead time five weeks: three weeks for interface design and brand adaptation (touch-signature feature, corporate-design layout integration, CI sign-off by the brand's owners), one week for physical terminal configuration and delivery to the headquarters, one week for Virtual Booth testing across operating systems and device formats (iOS, Android, Windows; Chrome, Safari, Firefox).

Deployment: hardware terminal delivered in a flight case, set up by an UpReach technician. Virtual Booth rolled out by link via the brand's internal communication system.

Campaign duration hardware: two to three weeks at the headquarters. Virtual Booth: extended over several months for global locations. Remote adjustments via the cloud CMS with no technician on site.

CI consistency

The combination of a physical anchor (headquarters) and digital scale (Virtual Booth) achieved worldwide participation. The physical terminal at the headquarters created leadership visibility, which drove the motivation of the global workforce. The Virtual Booth scaled this energy to all locations without logistics.

The hand-signed, CI-compliant photos were shared widely on LinkedIn. The fashion brand achieved substantial earned-media value through organically shared employee content — with no media budget and no agency production.

The cloud CMS ensured that no employee could accidentally alter the branding. Every generated post carried the full visual identity of the brand.

Key takeaways from this setup

Top-down participation is the precondition: the campaign worked because management used the terminals first. Bottom-up without top-down visibility creates no participation momentum.

Zero friction is the precondition for global scale: the Virtual Booth is the only technology that can extend a campaign to every international location without logistics, hardware shipping or app requirements.

Personalisation creates authenticity: the handwritten signature turned a campaign photo into a personal statement. That quality of authenticity is measurable in higher engagement rates on LinkedIn.

Consistent CI via the cloud CMS: global rollouts without a central design-control system produce branding deviations. The cloud CMS is the only architecture that guarantees CI consistency across all devices and locations.
