LINDOR Cube with a 360-degree booth for Lindt's 75th anniversary

Lindt celebrated the 75th anniversary of the LINDOR product line with an interactive LINDOR Cube in the Mall of Berlin. UpReach integrated a 360-degree video booth as the technological heart of the activation. Visitors could record 360-degree videos, enter prize draws, pour pralines and personalise packaging — a multi-modal activation at a central premium touchpoint, designed as a curated anniversary experience in the LINDOR brand design.

More than 200 B2B brands from across Europe trust UpReach — from agencies to enterprise corporations.

The initial situation

The 75th anniversary of an iconic product line has a clear strategic ambition: the activation has to do justice to the occasion — a standard pop-up box in front of the entrance would contradict the brand heritage. As a premium shopping destination, the Mall of Berlin also calls for an architectural activation set-up that is not perceived as a foreign body in the highly curated mall environment.

The central requirement was multi-modality: several activation elements — a photo experience, a prize draw, praline personalisation, packaging individualisation — were to be bundled in a coherent Cube set-up, without the individual components feeling arbitrarily placed side by side. Every activation layer had to contribute to the anniversary narrative.

The technology requirement for the photo component was demanding: static single photos were too understated for the anniversary mood — what was needed was a moving-image activation that stages visitors in the Cube set-up and creates shareable content for social media. The 360-degree booth was the right answer to that requirement.

The UpReach solution

UpReach integrated a 360-degree video booth as the central activation element in the LINDOR Cube. The booth enabled 360-degree video recordings of visitors in the Cube set-up — the camera moved on a programmed path around the person, and the finished video was produced in a few seconds.

The software UI was designed entirely in the LINDOR anniversary design: standby screen, operating interface, preview logic and branding footer in the look of the anniversary campaign. Visitors could download their 360-degree video directly and share it on social-media channels — the activation extended organically beyond the physical mall visit.

The 360-degree booth was embedded in the multi-modal Cube activation: alongside the video recording, visitors could enter prize draws, pour pralines and personalise packaging. The UpReach set-up handled the photo component — the other activation elements were integrated into the Cube architecture by Lindt and its partner agency.

The data pipeline for video downloads ran GDPR-compliantly: an email-based download or QR-code sharing, a separate newsletter opt-in, full consent documentation per session. More on the technology used: /produkte/360-grad-booth.

Setup & Logistics

Lead time six weeks: three weeks for software configuration (UI in the LINDOR anniversary design, 360-degree recording programming, branding of the video overlays), two weeks for the architectural integration of the booth into the LINDOR Cube (dimensional coordination with the Cube builder, lighting in the Cube interior), one week for compliance review and final end-to-end tests.

Delivery and set-up in the Mall of Berlin by UpReach technicians. Calibration of the 360-degree recording to the light conditions in the Cube interior, coordination with Lindt's promoter team on the visitor choreography.

During the activation run, the cloud CMS delivered the Lindt marketing team real-time transparency on session progress, download rate and social-sharing behaviour. No manual intervention was required — the set-up ran in self-service mode with promoter support for visitor onboarding.

social-media sharing directly from the Cube

The 360-degree video booth delivered the moving-image component that the anniversary ambition required. Static selfies would not have matched the anniversary narrative — the kinetic staging in the Cube interior creates shareable content on a quality level unreachable with smartphone shots.

The embedding in the multi-modal Cube activation was strategically valuable: visitors went through a coherent anniversary experience of several stations — the 360-degree booth was one component of a curated sequence, not an isolated activation island. That extended the dwell time in the Cube and strengthened the overall brand impression.

The direct social-sharing mechanic from the booth extended the mall activation into digital reach: every shared video clip carried the anniversary mood into visitors' private networks — an organic extension of the physical activation into the social feed.

Key takeaways from this setup

Moving image beats still image at premium anniversary occasions: static photos are the right choice for high-frequency quick activations. At curated premium occasions with an anniversary character, the 360-degree video recording is the more fitting format — the kinetic component visibly creates more activation value on social media.

Multi-modal activations need clear choreography: several activation elements in one Cube only work as a coherent experience when the visitor sequence is planned in advance. The 360-degree booth as the central anchor worked because the Cube build led visitors through the stations in a logical order.

Architectural integration of the hardware into the Cube is a must: a visibly bought-in standard booth would have broken the Cube aesthetic. The dimensionally coordinated integration into the Cube interior and the UI adaptation in the LINDOR anniversary design made the booth a visual part of the anniversary architecture.
