1,289 CRM leads in 48 hours for Samsung

Samsung launched a smartphone with a two-day POS setup. The result: 1,289 legally captured CRM leads from 1,720 sessions — a conversion rate of 75 percent. The lever was the combination of AI-driven GIF and Boomerang generation on an UpReach Pro V1 terminal with an integrated prize-draw data gate that removed the barrier to data entry under high-frequency conditions.

More than 200 B2B brands from across Europe trust UpReach — from agencies to enterprise corporations.

The initial situation

Samsung launches have a narrow window. In the first 48 hours, maximum attention has to be created while hard first-party data capture runs at the same time. The problem: massive physical traffic at the location completely overwhelms manual lead capture by staff.

The technical requirements were demanding. The system had to process photos, GIFs and Boomerangs at high frequency, capture GDPR-compliant consents and deliver emails plus digital downloads to hundreds of concurrent users with no server failure. Consumer hardware was not stable under this load. The biometric processing had to be GDPR-compliant with consent before capture and a data processing agreement.

The brand standard: the interface had to appear in the exact corporate design of the product line. No generic photo-booth look, no third-party branding in the customer's field of view.

The UpReach solution

UpReach deployed an UpReach Pro V1 terminal at the centre of the launch area. The housing was fully wrapped in the company colours — no UpReach branding visible on the outside. The software interface ran in the full corporate design of the product line.

The AI engine offered three output formats: high-resolution product photos, dynamic GIFs and Boomerangs, all in front of exclusively branded brand backgrounds. For high-frequency operation, offline mode with local processing at the terminal was booked; data processing was GDPR-compliant with consent before capture.

The decisive conversion lever was the data gate. Before the visitor could download their content via QR code or email, the prize-draw mask opened. By leaving their email address and confirming the GDPR-compliant newsletter opt-in, the visitor could win the new smartphone. The consent was captured with a timestamp and transferred to the group's CRM in real time via REST API.

The terminal ran in full kiosk mode — no staff had to operate or supervise the system.

Setup & Logistics

Lead time was 4 weeks: 2 weeks for UI configuration and CI adaptation (branded interface, prize-draw logic, CRM API integration, end-to-end testing), 1 week for physical preparation (housing wrap in the corporate CI), 1 week of buffer for compliance sign-off by the group's legal department.

Transport in a standard flight case. Build by an UpReach technician in under 45 minutes, including camera calibration to the lighting conditions of the sales floor. On-site support throughout the entire 48-hour run, remotely via the cloud CMS: sessions, conversion rate and CRM leads were available to the group marketing team in real time.

Data pipeline: every confirmed consent was transferred to the group's CRM within seconds via the REST API — including the opt-in timestamp, chosen output format and prize-draw status. Teardown and return transport the following day.

All leads were captured via the GDPR-compliant opt-in at the terminal — with a timestamp, opt-in type and content format as metadata per lead record. The 75 percent conversion rate (sessions to leads) is far above the industry average for comparable POS activations.

Visitors who chose GIF or Boomerang content shared their output on social media platforms significantly more often than visitors with static photos. This increased the earned media value of the launch campaign with no additional media budget.

Follow-up marketing could start while the event was still running — the REST API handed new leads to the CRM within seconds. No subsequent CSV export, no manual data entry after the event.

Key takeaways from this setup

The prize draw as a conversion engine: the promise of winning the device just unveiled removes the barrier to data entry. When the incentive is directly linked to the event's product, the conversion rate rises measurably over generic vouchers.

Motion over stills: GIFs and Boomerangs generate far higher share rates on social media platforms than static portraits. For launch campaigns with an earned-media goal, we recommend motion as the primary output.

Zero friction under high load: a maximum of 3 input fields in the form (email, name, opt-in checkbox). Every additional field measurably lowers throughput at high-frequency events — at this level, seconds per interaction become a substantial metric.

Offline mode is essential at high frequency: with 1,720 sessions in 48 hours, pure cloud rendering would not have been stable enough given latency and Wi-Fi instability at the location. For this setup, offline mode with local processing at the terminal was booked — the prerequisite for high-frequency setups of this category.
